When you contact us

When you contact us by email or phone, we process the information you choose to share so that we can consider and respond to your enquiry. Please share only relevant information and avoid sensitive personal data.

Purposes and legal basis

When you ask us to take steps before entering into a possible contract with you as an individual, our legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation. For enquiries made on behalf of a business and other relevant business communication, we rely on our legitimate interest in considering and responding to enquiries under Article 6(1)(f).

Technical security measures are based on our legitimate interest in protecting the website and preventing misuse.

Email and storage

The website has no contact form and does not store enquiries on the web server. Email is handled in the company's email system, Proton Mail.

Enquiries are kept for as long as they are needed for follow-up. Information that must be retained as part of a contractual relationship or to meet legal obligations may be kept longer. You can contact us about deleting a specific enquiry.

Security and technical logs

The website has no application log of its own. The hosting provider and Cloudflare may process technical visit data, including IP addresses and timestamps, to deliver and protect the website. Retention of these logs depends on the providers' configuration and procedures. Cloudflare is used for DNS and as a reverse proxy.

Cookies and browser storage

The website's own static files do not set cookies or create server sessions.

If you choose light or dark mode, the choice is saved in your browser's local storage (localStorage). The key is waldersloff-theme and its value is either light or dark. The choice is used only to remember the appearance, is not sent to the server and is not used for tracking. It has no automatic expiry and remains until you change your choice or clear the website's stored data in your browser. Without a saved choice, the website follows your system setting.

On a first visit to the home page, Norwegian or English is selected from the browser's language preferences. Choosing a language with the language button saves waldersloff-language with the value nb or en in localStorage. This choice has no automatic expiry and remains until you clear the website's stored data. It is not sent to the server. Language selection uses no IP address, geolocation or external service. Direct links to language versions and subpages retain their language.

The clocks and decorative network graphic run locally in your browser. They do not use geolocation, network lookups or storage of your timezone.

The website does not use analytics, advertising or external embeds. Fonts, images, stylesheets and JavaScript are served from our own website.

Your rights

You can request access, correction or deletion and, where the conditions are met, restriction of processing or a copy of your information. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interests.
